Hello, I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Government at Harvard University.

I study public opinion and electoral politics in advanced democracies. I am particularly interested in inter-group animosity across political, class, and gender lines. I am interested in examining how such animosity is shaped by a wide set of factors including social relations, economic interests, political institutions, geography, and psychological mechanisms, and how these macro and micro level mechanisms interact with each other. Methodologically, I use deep learning based natural language processing, spatial analysis, natural experiments, surveys, and survey experiments.

I am an affiliate at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science, the Center for European Studies and the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard. I was a visiting fellow at the University of Amsterdam in the Fall of 2022 and at the SciencesPo Center for European Studies and Comparative Politics in the Spring of 2023. Before coming to Harvard, I completed a B.A. in economics and political science and a M.A. in political science at Seoul National University.
